Proper maintenance procedures will help preserve the appearance and extend the life of the IVC Carpet Tiles floor. The frequency of maintenance will depend on the amount and type of traffic, degree of soiling, color and type of floor.

1. Preventive measures

– Keeping dirt off the floor is easier and cheaper than removing it.

– Suitable entry material can remove large amounts of dry soil as well as absorb water or oil based

Prevention also means choosing the right flooring and design/color for the right area, e.g. avoid too dark or too light colors for high-traffic areas near office building entrances.

– Chairs with wheels must be equipped with hard wheels (type H) with a diameter of at least 50 mm and a width of at least 20 mm.

– Regular vacuuming is the most important part of a successful maintenance program to remove all gravel, debris and other solid particles.

– Spills and stains are inevitable, but they don’t have to be permanent. Clean up spills quickly and there is less chance of permanent stains. First try to wipe up the spill with a dry cloth/kitchen towel, then use water. Only use detergents/cleaning products when the above is not sufficient to remove spills/stains. Use neutral pH detergents, e.g. from the www.james.eu assortment.

– Periodic cleaning is a cost-effective way to keep your carpet attractive and odor-free in the period between two deep cleanings.
