1. General remarks

Designed floor coverings from the PROJECT FLOORS stable are products that are already equipped with a PU coating that is applied at the factory. Regular cleaning is necessary to guarantee optimal, long-term aesthetics as well as a long working life. Such cleaning depends on the course and surface of applications, as well as the chosen color and embossed surface variant of the design. On request, the wear layer can be finished using the 2K PU seal system. In certain cases, factors related to the property make the application of an additional coating a wise decision (see the point entitled “Important information”).

2. Precautions

In order to protect the lining from mechanical damage through the ingress of dirt originating from water, sand, etc. it is recommended to install suitable tracks to catch dirt. During the installation phase, it is necessary to protect the cover from mechanical damage caused by other trades.

3. Installation of cleaning posts After the work on the area is completed, the installation site must be cleaned to completely remove the resulting soiling. This is not the same as basic cleaning (see point 6). After the laying process is finished, the floor covering should be cleaned with a PU cleaner (not a basic cleaner) diluted with water (1:10). The dirt must be completely assimilated, and then neutralized with water cleaner. Since click joints do not represent a watertight system, attention must be paid to the amount of water and the cleaning agents used. Moisture-sensitive subsurfaces in particular can be damaged in this process. This is why we recommend that the so-called “wet wiping procedure” be used. with a suitable wiping cloth. Spraying the cleaner using a pump bottle (eg with the Dr. Schutz Spray-Mop set) is also recommended. Installation after cleaning is not a preparatory measure before care treatment (see point 4). For this purpose, basic cleaning is required (see point 6).
4. Care treatment

Due to the already existing surface treatment, initial care is not mandatory. Depending on the area of application and the expected course, a high-quality PU system can be applied if necessary. This includes the application of additional treatment of the floor covering to protect it from mechanical influences resulting from daily wear and tear. 5. Continuous cleaning and maintenance

What is meant by ongoing cleaning maintenance is manual cleaning using standard wiping devices. First of all, coarse dirt is removed with a broom or a vacuum cleaner. The area is then wet wiped with the PU cleaner described in the instructions for use. The Schutz Spray-Mop system is recommended here as well. For additional protection against scratches and scrapes caused by moving pieces of furniture, felt pads are a must for subsequent application. Office chairs used with PROJECT FLOORS flooring must be equipped with soft castors type W in accordance with DIN 68131.

6. Basic cleaning

Depending on the degree of soiling, the floor can be cleaned, allowing longer intervals between treatments, with basic cleaner R (Dr. Schutz) diluted as specified by the manufacturer. After complete assimilation of the dirt, cover

is neutralized with clean, warm water until all dirt and residues of the cleaning solution are completely removed. After that, a care treatment can be carried out (see point 4.) if desired. Since click joints do not represent a watertight system, attention must be paid to the amount of water and the cleaning agents used. Moisture-sensitive subsurfaces in particular can be damaged in this process. 7. Important information

For additional protection against scrapes and scratches caused by moving parts of the furniture, felt pads are mandatory for subsequent application. Office chairs used with PROJECT FLOORS floor coverings must be equipped with type W (soft) double swivel castors in accordance with DIN 68131.
